Eynsford Neighbourhood Plan

You will have heard about the proposed development for Pedham Place, what you may not appreciate is that this is only one part of Sevenoaks District Council’s Plan 2040.

The rate of proposed housing developments and solar developments on land around our village could change the very appearance of it, if we do not try to take some form control. The Neighbourhood Plan is a method to do this. The plan would include policies that would direct developers as to what they can develop within our Parish Boundaries. Yes, the document is that powerful. Once it becomes a formal document then anyone, be it a landowner, builder, or developer would have to adopt those policies when proposing a development and requesting planning consent.

The Plan’s Policies are developed by you, residents of the Village. The Parish Council will set up an independent Steering Group to manage this, through a series of surveys, communications, and regular meetings.

Your involvement is essential, whether it be directly, being part of the Steering Group, or the Sub-Committees, or just simply responding with your opinions. Please start discussing this with friends and neighbours, so everyone can join in.

The plan will consider all of these aspects:

· Protection of the local landscape and character of the villages

· Housing, development and infrastructure design

· Community facilities, amenities & employment (Businesses)

· Transport

(If any of these are of particular interest to you then please let us know and you can help us. That includes businesses of all sizes within the Parish Boundaries)

The Sub-Committees will be set up over the next few weeks, we will appoint a Consultant to guide us, and then we will then reach out for a Householder Survey to capture your opinions. We will provide more information and greater communication as the Plan starts to form.

We aim to involve all our community; we plan to keep you up to date and involved using short electronic surveys via an electronic newsletter. We have a meeting: Everyone welcome to come along on Friday 13th June AND July 4th both at 10am - St Martin’s Church to find out more and to get involved! These meetings are timetabled to enable us to circulate the Householder Survey to everyone during the Summer.
