Budget Time

Last night councillors met to go through the proposed budget for 2015-16. This process involved going through forecast figures for the current financial year and budgeting amounts for 2015-16. Then comes the bit at the end where amounts have to be reduced back down to ensure the precept amount remains reasonable. It is a fine balancing act between providing services for the village, and not adding too much to the council tax bill.

The budget will not be agreed until the December meeting, and further changes may be suggested before then. The agreed budget will enable us to put in our precept request to Sevenoaks District Council in the new year. This is paid for as a small part of your council tax.
